Governors have been exploring academy status for nearly three years to see if it would provide opportunities to improve the school. The Governing Body is now proposing that James Rennie School should become an academy within The Eden Academy (which is a multi academy trust that consists only of special schools). Governors are seeking the views of staff, parents, other schools and other stakeholders. Governors are particularly interested to hear why stakeholders hold these views as this will allow them to ensure that all relevant issues are considered.
Please find below a consultation document introducing the proposal, a question and answer document and a consultation feedback form to download and e-mail that provides more detail. You can also share your views by completing the on-line questionnaire available here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/F92SGJH or by writing to the Headteacher, Kris Williams.
Parents are invited to attend one of the consultation meetings on Tuesday 5th June (2pm or 6pm) at the school to share their views.
Staff are invited to attend one of the consultation meetings on Tuesday 5th June at 12:00pm or 12:40pm
The consultation closes on 15th June 2018, after which Governors will consider the responses before they make a final decision about whether to become an academy and join The Eden Academy.
